- jim witteMar, 22 2018★ ★ ★ ★ ★Leelanau State Park has created a terrific hiking path system between Lake Michigan and mud lake. The observation platform is easily accessed all year as a spur trail off of the network of trails. The trail rises to to top of a dune gradually, a set of stairs helps with the steepest section and limits the erosion. We were able to see both North and South Fox Islands as will as Beaver Island in the distance.
